Day 4 - Happy New Year's!

No pictures today - I'm not in Chicago at the moment - spend my New Years in Pittsburgh. Hopefully I'll get inspired enough to sketch some stuff that will inspire me. 2009 is going to be fantastic. Woot, woot!

Day 3: Lazy Day

Since this project isn't the goal of my existence I had some other stuff to take care of today.

Boring stuff: mail my New Years presents to my Mom, get my haircut done. Oh! Btw I take haircuts at ghetto places - (i simply don't think that it's worth to spend money on my hair ) -places like Haircuttery, which is really frustrating sometimes, like today this really overweight lady was suppose to trim my neck hair, well instead she TRIMMED MY FREAKING GOLDEN NECKLACE! Pluses: didn't have to pay the tip, they'll refund me the repair. Cannot wait to get bald.

Because of this ordeal with my neck hair I only had time to stretch paper over the drawing board, so it stays straight when I apply watercolors.
That's how it looks when finished. Now what you have to do to get to this point:

1. Take her to the bathroom

2. Turn the tap on.

3. Soak her in warm water.

4. While she's getting wet get your tool out. 5. Nail her right in the bathroom.

It'll shrink as it dries out and stretch itself over. It's a pretty sexy process really.

Sexy things tend be exhasuting, so that's the only thing i had time for today.

Day Two - Scanned Sketches

From now on I'll try to scan pictures instead of using my camera (which is really old btw -- Sony Cyber-shot 5.0 -- made in Japan-- bought in 2003 -- still holding) Above is the scanned version of my yesterday's sketch.

More sketches. I was coming up with a better composition yesterday.

Today I was thinking how to paint a bright monitor situated in a dark room. I'm sure very familiar view to many of you out there. Very bad for the eyesight actually.

And finally my second sketch using watercolors. You know, just to get a feel of how it'll look color and tone wise.

Day One

Today is the first day of my project. I put all of my courage together, took Red Line Train (Chicago Transit System) to Monroe station (Downtown Chicago), walked in the Blick Art Materials store and got all the stuff I've been missing to start this thing going.

Security guy was watching me all the time I was in there. Do I look like a person that will lift watercolor pencils? Must be my White Sox hat that got him worried.

Here are the supplies. All of this came out to be around 50 bucks. I could've made my own board, but I figured I'll buy it just to get rid of the excuses to procrastinate even longer.

• Drawing Board
• Eraser
• WaterColor Pencils (to sketch stuff)
• Graphite Pencils
• Paper
• Sketch Paper
• Thumbtacks
• "Standard" Cutter
• Long Metal Ruler (to cut against and measure stuff)

Then...

Then I came up with a still life set up. HP Pavilion vs. Coke... No really it's deeper than that. It represents the clash of modern and classic corporations. I'll explain it more as I paint this.

So I made a couple of sketches. One in color and
one in graphite.


















I should probably use scanner next time...
