No Love Song

you smell like apples.
like apricot tree blooming by the sea.

brought you inside.
locked in my mind and lost that tiny key.

so many stories.
so many poems, drawings, other stuff.

so many stories.
and none of them is love.

you are a sunrise.
but sun is slowly moving to sunset.

stars all around you.
you shake them off to fill my empty head.

i want to touch you.
you're unprotected precious piece of art.

i want to touch you.
you break and fall apart.

there's no love.
it has been proven.

there's no you.
just blurry dreams.

there's no hope.
i keep on moving.

and every day i clearly see:
there's no love.

Free

Tell me
Where should I be
If you know it -
Please disclose it.
That's all I'm asking for.

Place to fit right in.
Even for a moment.
To be closer.
To be honest maybe.

Music will always be.
Even if we don't notice.
It's all around us.
It was there long before us.

Hours are making us think.
Even if we don't want to.
There's nothing else to do
Before we're free.

Spotless mind

Erase me that part of my brain,
Or send me someone else to pertain
To the mold of my heart
To grow together and not apart.

So I don't have to pretend.
Both the lover and the friend.
So I don't have to explain.
Pure love and no stupid games.

Can you do this for me?
That's all I need until I'm free.
Someone to forgive when she's wrong.
And later dedicate a song.

It's maybe 60 years to go.
I need someone - that's all I know.
If there's noone - it's ok,
Erase me that part of my brain.

The Lullaby

Come to me tonight.
I hear your silent cry.
Show yourself to me.

Step out of the dark -
You'll see how many stars
Give their light for us.

Look straight ahead and
Hold my hand
I'll prove you there's a happy end
For everyone who dreams like you and me.
You'll see.

I know it's tough.
At least today.
For every step there's three to take.
But... tomorrow we'll be fine.
Yes... tomorrow you'll be fine.

Ultimate

Now that I know you're not for me
The seconds seem so long.
Every night I can't fall asleep thinking:
"Where did I go wrong?"

And all I knew about you
Is that I need you in my veins.
Without you life is so easy
And yet so hard in every single way.

That was my ultimate attempt
To hold you back from being free.
It is so odd to see you flying high,
You're flying without me.

You were my ultimate heartbeat,
My ultimate hope,
My ultimate chance
To find real love.

And now it's all downhill
From where I stand
My ultimate days
Had come to the end.

Snow White

baby...
you walked into my world
and i'm not alone.
anymore.

ladies...
tonight she is the one.
i'm here, yet i'm gone
with her.
her eyes so deep, and she laughs so sweet
sparkling light all around.
lashes up and then down.

so bright - makes me blind
for the rest of the night.
resting her silhouette,
smoking slim cigarette.

oh. you glow. my gentle snow white.
go, then slowly call my name. why?
why i met you only now?...oh

or maybe...
we'll go our different ways,
and this music goes to waste...

Keep It Inside the Box

i have to hear some music
i have to see some images
i cannot let my brain think

i have to keep him busy
feed him with something to digest
keep him inside the box

and i am afraid to stop
i'd rather have him consume
and not let him produce

it is easier that way
no bloodshed of will
simple non challenging procedure

flipping through images
skipping through tracks
just don't stop until the end

everything ends

No Need to Rhyme

Here baby.
One last time.
I'm gone tomorrow
It's hard to find
Me...
And so I go-
Searching for nothing,
Playing no roles.

So unpredictable,
Never detectable,
Blood in my veins-
Time-indestructible.
Making your trance-
You call it romance.
I don't recall names,
Don't leave you a chance.

Watching you from high above,
Expecting your moves,
Reading your minds.
Stupid game.
Rules...
I never obey them-
Breaking them,
Stepping over them,
Leaving them.

Showing no trace of regret,
I move through eternity,
You do the rest:
Love and die,
Fight and try,
Thoughts and emotions,
Desire and pain.

I wasn't born,
And will not vanish.
Some search for me-
I turn them to rubbish.
I'm breaking you down,
I'm building you up,
I have all the time,
And no need to rhyme.

I've Never Brought Her Flowers

  1. the shape of her face
with a tiny scar on a cheek
    that i used to kiss
    so cute
  2. holding her head
fingers tangled in her strong straight hair
that i would find on my pillow
    later
  3. smell of her skin after the shower
    warm and flawless
as she crawled under the cover
    lights off
are the things i will go back to
as an old lonely man
slowly losing his mind

Every night

So I came up with this lyrics for a new song, working on music now in my spare time:

Warm rain
In Chicago
It was a wonderful day
There is no reason to think of time

You and me
Together
We can go a long way
If only every night was like tonight

Chorus:
And your smile - it's so contagious
We could walk like this for ages
In the rain or in the sun
We don't mind

Only you I see through droplets
You glance at me, and give your soft kiss
If only every night was like tonight

There is a couple more verses in my head i need to add, they are pretty "raw" to post yet.

Thanks.

Call me up

One of my recent songs: "Call me up"
There is no video clip to it. So don't be disappointed.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4DV4hGVi6k

Lyrics:

So hard to wake up every morning
Walking through this life and falling
Face down on the pillow every day

There is no reason to complain - I'm so spoiled
I had a year of love to enjoy
But things I can't control are on our way

Yet you can call me up
In a middle of the night
I'm still there for you baby
But I'm not gonna fight

For your love...
For your kiss...
For your smile...
I'm willing to die

Things that you've said are unfair
I didn't try too hard to care
Words are not just sounds - they push apart

And I will eventually forget
I'll shoot in face this last thin thread
And go off to the better, brighter start

Yet you can call me up
In a middle of the night
I'm still there for you baby
But I'm not gonna fight

For your love...
For your kiss...
For your smile...
I'm willing to die

And every time she's next to me
I fall apart, I'm on my knees
I see her lines, I touch her skin
If only she will let me in

Not many things are left to say
I run away, yet every day
I buy this ticket back to you
Cause no one gets me like you do

To die...
Today...
You opened your world,
And let me stay.
I'm breaking your heart,
Never again.

New Concept!

I decided to revise the whole purpose of this site. It was created as a place for the artwork that is somehow related to the "digital world" theme. That really limits what I can post here. And I don't like limitations. Last couple of month (as you could have noticed) I didn't post much. Partly because of my laziness, partly because of schoolwork, and one of the main reasons: nothing digital inspired me to sketch it, and moreover paint it. I also have some music that I've put together and would like to share, yet this place was planned to be for the presentation of visual art only.

Well... NOT ANYMORE!

Starting tonight CON-VER-TER is a place where i will be posting any of my art, music etc.

Please feel free to comment! It's good to hear some different from my own opinion.

My camera gave up on me. It's old and tired and deserved a rest after it's long and (unlike my) productive life. I need to get a new one.

Day 26: The Sun

One of my compositions. I called it "The Evil Game" originally and it was inspired by the OST of the movie "American Beaty", but I can see something from "Donnie Darko" in there as well.

Day 22: Poll Results

The poll regarding what I should paint ended. The results: The summertime girl - 3 votes, The Chevy Van - 3 votes. Now since two paintings got equal amount of votes it's up to me to decide between those two. My choice is The Summertime Girl. I will start working on it this week and hopefully by weekend it'll be done.

Thank you for participating!

Day 21: Hercules - The Shelter Dog

Hercules is a shelter dog. My girlfriend volunteers there, loves dogs at the shelter including Hercules, and occasionally writes short stories about her experience there publishing them on her Blog. This image is an illustration to one of them.

I decided that I will mail this sketch to whoever adopts Hercules.

Please do NOT adopt the dog just to get this sketch!

Day 19: The Night Street (pencil sketch)

Pencil sketch that I think will make a good painting. I know, i know - doesn't look exciting at all, BUT... I will post a watercolor version tomorrow. Better than nothing, right?

Day 16: Chicago View

View on the backstreet from my apartment in Chicago.
Sketch that hopefully will grow into a fully developed painting some day.

Day 15: Brick Wall in the Morning.

I had to wake up unusually early for me today, around 6:00 AM (I sleep in till 2:00 PM otherwise), I looked out of my window and one striking difference in what i saw flashed in my brain - old dirty smoked brick wall of my neighbours' house that blocks all the light coming to my room was brightly lit with a morning sunshine. It appeared almost golden in a clear frozen air. I made a quick sketch in pen while figuring out how I can show the brick texture of the wall. A thick cloud of white steam was coming out of the pipes sticking from the neighbour's basement. That was harder to portray, so if I'll have to get up early on a cold Chicago morning again, I will certainly try to paint this cloud. Luckily my neighbor uses laundry drier almost every day.

Brick wall (5.5" x 8.5")
P.S.
Dimensions for the paintings are updated.

Day 14: A Funky Speaker

Today's picture is called "A Funky Speaker".
Below I post a pen sketch and a finished watercolor mini-painting. It is more of a miniature in style and my experiment with color. The original speaker I tried to portray was black and grey by color. Mostly monochromic palette of Chicago winter is pretty depressing, and painting something of the same spectrum did not really appeal to me - as a result grey speaker came out to be a hippie.

One last thing: painting is approximately 5.5" x 8.5". Tomorrow I will update size specifications for the previous paintings and sketches.

Day 13: Flower basket

Below is a quick painting i did in October. The best part in my opinion is a wooden post and the fence. It is in a private collection at the moment.

Dimensions: (11" x 15")

Day 10: Pink and Green

Today I went to the Art Insitute of Chicago. They have public hours after 5 every Thursday. C. Monet and the way he plays with color "inspired" me for this "piece".

Pink and Green #1 (5.5" x 8.5")

Day 9: The Death of Coke

Watercolor sequence of the day. I called it The Death of Coke... The initial idea was to depict a black cord running into the water to an imaginary hair dryer or toaster. Well i decided not to do that, so here it is..

Dimensions: (5.5" x 6.5")

Tuesday, January 6, 2009

Day 8: iPod Nano.

Another pen sketch (5" x 8.5").

Monday, January 5, 2009

Day 7: Summertime Girl

Dimensions: (6" x 8.5")

Color printer vs. b/w one. I personally prefer color.

Day 5: Laptop Still Life Sequence

I am back from Pittsburgh and back to work. My girlfriend inspired me for a first sequence that I am posting below:
